Clondalkin Community First Responders

Clondalkin Community First Responders is a local volunteer group dedicated to providing immediate, life‑saving medical assistance to individuals in need within our community.

Activated directly by the National Ambulance Service or Dublin Fire Brigade, our trained volunteers respond to both adult and paediatric emergencies. These calls include cardiac arrest, chest pain, choking, stroke, traumatic injuries, falls, and loss of consciousness.

Established in July 2025, our mission is to deliver life-saving care during the vital minutes before emergency services arrive.

Our work is funded entirely through donations. This support allows us to equip each volunteer with a fully stocked emergency response bag and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). We will also fundraise to install public‑access defibrillators in strategic locations across Clondalkin and the surrounding areas.

Our ultimate goal is to strengthen the chain of survival and improve outcomes for those experiencing life‑threatening emergencies.

Trained Volunteers

Our volunteers are certified in basic life support skills. They are competent in effective CPR including the use of an AED.

Fast Responses

After receiving a 999/112 call, Community First Responders are dispatched alongside the National Ambulance Service. This is so that people already in the area can respond with emergency mesures within minutes.

Types of Calls

First responders are dispatched for Chest pain, Breathing Difficulty, Choking, Strokes and Cardiac related calls.

Support

The job is to provide reassurance to both the patient and their family until the ambulance crew arrives.

Access to AED

Effective CPR alongside an Automated External Defibrillator within the first 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest can increase survival rates by 49%-75%.

Local

Our volunteers either live or work in Clondalkin so they can quickly respond to calls in the area. Our volunteers are Garda Vetted.
